Both kits come complete with motor, battery, controller and controls. Choose the power and battery size that suit your riding.
Bafang mid-drive kit
The motor sits at the cranks and drives through your gears, so it climbs strongly and feels natural. Widely regarded as the most popular mid-drive kit worldwide.

Hub motor kit

Hills & trails
Mid-drive uses your gears, so it climbs better and suits mountain bikes. Hub motors are fine on flat and rolling roads.

In Australia, only kits limited to 250W are legal on public roads and cycle paths. Kits above 250W are for off-road use, private property or closed circuits only. You are responsible for making sure your converted bike complies with local regulations, and Perth Electric Bicycles accepts no liability for illegal use on public roads.

Will a kit fit my bike?
Most standard bikes convert well, including mountain bikes, hybrids and commuters. Frame shape, bottom bracket and wheel size decide which kit fits. Bring your bike in or send us a photo and we will tell you.
Is a converted bike road legal?
Yes, with a 250W kit. Anything more powerful is for off-road and private land only.
How far will it go?
Typically 30 to 60 km per charge, depending on the battery you choose, the rider, the terrain and the assist level.
Can I install the kit myself?
Yes. Kits are shipped complete and ready to fit. If you would rather not, our workshop fits them from $150.
