Our electric conversion kits are designed to fit a wide range of bicycles, but it’s nevertheless exciting when we find something that’s a perfect fit! Case in point, the Specialized Vita that we set up just last week. The Vita is the women’s specific version of one of our shop favourites, the Specialized Sirrus, and features the same comfortable but efficient flatbar road geometry and versatile A1 aluminium frame and Cr-Mo fork. With reliable Shimano componentry by way of a 24 speed drivetrain and V-Brakes, the Vita is more than up to the challenge of daily commuting and recreational use.
We’ve fitted this bike with our Swift kit, which is comprised of a 200 Watt mini motor mated to a 36 Volt, 9 Amp battery to give a range of between 30 and 35 kilometres with moderate pedal input. One of the strengths of this fitout is minimal intrusion on the weight and handling of the bike, with the complete setup weighing in at under 20 kg. At $1800, the electric Specialized Vita is an affordable all-rounder and a great way to transform your riding experience, be it commuting or recreation.
